Infrastructure 3.0 - Less is the new more

Computer networks have evolved over the years from separate dedicated components to a unified intelligent infrastructure.  Initially every component was separate, the server  network, the storage network, the core network, the telephony network and the wireless network.  Expansion of these networks was both costly and time consuming, servers and storage grew in a linear manner with very little utilisation.

With the advances in technology such as Cisco's Unified Computing and Nexus switching, VMware's Server and Desktop Virtualisation and NetApp's Intelligent Storage & De-duplication we can now achieve much more with less.  We are now able to build a unified infrastructure built on this next generation technology giving us a stateless and fluid infrastructure we can flex and manoeuvre between data centre locations, public and private.
