Scott Fletcher, chief executive of ANS Group, has saved Stoke on Trent's ‘Painted House' from repossession by offering financial support and mentoring its owner.
The Painted House is owned by 25 year-old Steve Williams who has spent years decorating the interior of the house with colourful mural art and paintings, making the house into a work of art. Steve, who was given just 14 days to raise enough cash to save the house, feared that the mortgage company would destroy the art when they repossessed the house.
Scott commented:
"Steve's house is just fantastic; it's a work of art in itself. It would have been a great shame if something so unique had been destroyed. Steve and his friends had started a great blog and twitter campaign appealing for help or advice and it caught my eye."
Scott will also be aiding Steve in fulfilling his ambition of becoming a full time artist by utilising his contacts within the business world to secure more commissioned pieces. Steve will also be producing a piece of artwork for Scott in return.
Scott continued:
"The paintings throughout the house are fantastic and I look forward to seeing the work he will be creating for myself, as well as helping Steve to generate more commissioned pieces and establish himself as a business in the coming months."
Steve said:
"After an agonising couple of weeks when I really thought that the house would be repossessed, Scott stepped in and offered to help pay the mortgage for a short time. We wouldn't have been able to save the house without him and I really am very grateful."
