ANS Group has won a contract with the Coventry and Warwickshire IT Collaborative (“CWITC”) – the NHS IT services organisation that serves NHS Coventry, and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust – to deliver comprehensive disaster recovery provision across its existing network.
The NetApp storage area network to be installed by ANS Group will ensure that CWITC has robust disaster recovery capabilities and resilient services across its storage network, which comprises two data centre locations, ensuring that the organisation is protected against system failures.
As well as allowing CWITC to introduce robust business continuity measures to reduce recovery times in the event of system failure, the solution will also increase data storage and operational efficiency, contributing positively to the organisation’s carbon reduction targets. In addition, the project will include the introduction of future proof hardware, creating a flexible architecture to allow for additional component hardware as required.
Richard Newham, Technical Services Manager at CWITC, said
“This latest investment in disaster recovery and improving the overall resiliency of our systems will ensure that the NHS organisations that we support can continue to perform both back office tasks and front line clinical services during unexpected system failures.
The NetApp implementation is a component of the CWITC strategy to provide best of breed IT services to clinical and administrative functions to continually improve the quality of care provided to our patients.
“ANS Group has a strong understanding of the challenges facing NHS organisations in relation to IT infrastructure, and its technical expertise makes the company an ideal partner on this crucial project.”
Paul Sweeney, Managing Director at ANS Group, commented
“Continuous operational delivery of healthcare services is essential and the provision of these services is greatly influenced by the IT systems supporting NHS Trusts. In line with improvements across the NHS, CWITC has recognised the importance of further improving the resilience of its systems and, at the same time, will introduce technology to improve the delivery of IT services, create a platform for future development and contribute to its carbon reduction targets. We are delighted to be working with CWITC.”
