Scott Fletcher is one of the country's leading entrepreneurs, heading up companies with a total valuation in excess of £30m. Scott founded what is now his largest business, ANS Group, from his back bedroom in 1996 at the young age of 22.
In November 2004, ANS were named as the Inner City 100 Awards' Rising Star by the right honourable Gordon Brown MP, a wise choice as the company is now PLUS market listed with a turnover expected to exceed £40m next year and healthy net profit margins of approximately 10%. Scott is also Chairman and lead investor in Godel Technolgies and Viapost.
Recently, Scott was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the North West at the National Business Awards; he was also named the IOD Young Director of the Year and the PLUS Market's Chairman of the Year.
Scott's community involvement ranges from his positions on the Board of FC United of Manchester, a community football club, and the Board of Governors of Manchester Academy, a school local to the ANS Group's offices, to making significant donations to Caudwell Children, The Prince's Trust and New East Manchester Enterprize.
Scott is also often turned to for comment by the media and is becoming known for his outspoken views on IT and business policies.
Paul has over 15 years experience in the IT industry, after graduating in Computer Studies at Salford University he joined a leading software house as a programmer in 1989. He rapidly progressed within the business and soon moved into sales to push the company's portfolio forward helping the business to achieve its largest deal ever. By the age of 25, Paul was General Manager for the Northern Region with annual turnover of the group now approaching £25 million by means of several successful acquisitions. In 1998 Paul was approached by ANS to join the management team and has since been at the heart of every defining moment in the company's growth including it's floatation on OFEX.
Chris has over 10 years experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. He worked as a key member of the management team that set up a telecoms subsidiary of Yorkshire Electricity growing it to a turnover of £15m and then leading the sale of the business to a third party. He then spent the next few years involved with developing a number of small / medium sized businesses getting involved in MBOs and financing projects until he joined ANS in 2000.
David, a specialist in business growth and development, has over 15 years' experience in the technology sector.
David's career began with a sales role for Word Perfect, the original word processing software, and market leader at the time. After securing some of the largest deals ever done in Europe and signing the first corporate licence agreement, David moved into a management position for the company, which, by this time, had been bought out by Novell.
During the dot com boom David influenced the path of several start up companies before moving to Notability in 2003. David was instrumental in turning this underperforming reseller into a desirable acquisition for ICT solutions giant Logicalis who bought out the company in 2005.
As a sales director with Logicalis, David, grew the team from 12 to 65, enabling the company to become one of the largest computing and IBM hardware resellers in the UK. At ANS Group David will be focusing on growing revenues and taking the company onto the next level.
Richard has 20 years experience in technology and began his career in the Army as a technician where he served across the world and in many conflict areas as a non-commissioned officer.
Departing his distinguished, decorated service career Richard moved to IT as a software engineer and technical manager before moving to sales during the dot com peak. Latterly he co-founded and supported a number of successful, award winning start-ups before joining a national software house as Services Director.
Richard has spent his entire career working on delivering high quality, best practice with an infectious enthusiasm. His broad business skills means he can lead and support teams at every level.
Ian is a qualified Company Secretary (FCIS) having first graduated in Business Studies at Salford University. He began his career in Salford with GEC as a graduate trainee but moved quickly into the leather trade with Silvester Litton Ltd. He remained there for 15 years the last 8 as Finance Director and left soon after the business was sold to Strong and Fisher plc. In 1987 he joined Broker Forms a specialist printing company for the financial markets. On the sale of the business to Kalamazoo plc in 1989 he assumed the role of Finance Director for both Broker Forms and Kalamazoo Distribution Ltd, the pc distribution arm of Kalamazoo. Both companies were based in Manchester. In January 1990 he led the Management Buyout of Kalamazoo Distribution and formed KDL Ltd.
Ian spent the next 8 years as Managing Director during this period he successfully presided over the transition of the business from a hardware distribution company to a £20m turnover computer services business. Ian has been involved in a number of acquisitions and business sales and in 1998 he sold KDL Ltd to Computerland Plc. In late 1999 he was invited to join ANS as a Non-Executive Director to help prepare the business for the OFEX floatation in 2000.
Having worked in the industry for the last eight years, this promotion will allow me to show my commitment to the company and help push the current strategy and vision forward. It has been an exciting year for ANS with the successful launch of Infrastructure 3.0, and I am delighted that my hard work has been recognised and rewarded in such a way.
