Charity Support
ANS Group Plc have chosen company charities in the New Childrens Hospital Appeal, Princes' Trust and Caudwell Children. The New Childrens Hospital Appeal was established in 2006, and aimed to raise £20million to support projects within the new hospital, which opened on 11th June 2009, and which is the largest children's hospital in the country. Now approaching the end of a three year campaign, the Appeal has £2million of its target left to achieve. ANS Group has been announced as the exclusive headline sponsor for The New Children's Hospital Appeal 2009 event, Notte Bella: Il Finito.
The Princes' Trust helps 100 people per day to gain qualifications and life skills that will lead to a better future. They particularly focus their efforts on young people, young people underachieving in education, young people leaving care and young offenders. ANS have already donated significant amounts to both charities and are now working to involve staff in further fundraising efforts.
Additionally, here at ANS Group, we annually sponsor the Jeans for Genes charity, where contributing members of staff can wear jeans to the office for a day in return for a donation to the charity which supports children with genetic disorders.
Working actively in its local community, ANS sponsor FC United of Manchester, a community football club that is run on a democratic basis as an Industrial Provident Society. They are very active in providing football coaching in the Greater Manchester community, and focus on offering affordable live football for all sections of the community.
ANS also have an active involvement with Manchester Academy, once a failing school located near to the group's office. Manchester Academy is now a high performing centre of learning where students develop a responsible attitude and approach to their own education. As the academy specialises in teaching business and enterprise, ANS Group provides opportunity for small groups of pupils to experience industry first hand. Group Chairman Scott Fletcher sits on the Academy's Board of Governors.
ANS Group communicates its CSR successes to shareholders through the Annual Report to the markets. Employees are kept abreast of developments through the monthly staff newsletter and quarterley all-staff meetings. Our Marketing Department also supplies information to local newspapers and industry magazines.
