Cisco WAAS Acceleration

Cisco WAAS is a powerful application acceleration and WAN optimisation solution that optimises the performance of any TCP-based application delivered across a WAN. Cisco WAAS software running on Cisco Wide Area Application Engine (WAE) platforms is deployed in the data center and remote office locations as appliances or network modules (NME-WAE) integrated with the branch router.

Cisco WAAS Advantage:

Addresses Key Challenges in Consolidating Branch Office Infrastructure and Delivering Centralised Applications.

Offers a Wide Range of Benefits to Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB Customers.

Provides Significant Benefits to Managed Services
.

This WAN optimisation solution allows customers to consolidate costly branch servers and storage into data centers, and deploy new applications centrally, while still offering LAN-like performance for remote users. Cisco WAAS offers the lowest TCO for branch and data center deployments, ease of integration through network transparency, reliable voice and data interoperability, and maximised overall security.

Cisco WAAS allows organisations to accomplish three primary IT objectives:

  • Deliver centralised applications with LAN-like speed to remote users, while preserving visibility and branch security.
  • Consolidate costly branch office servers, storage and backup infrastructure into data centers, while optimising WAN bandwidth usage.
  • Maximise regulatory compliance and data protection through consolidation of branch storage, as well as acceleration of branch backup applications.

Unlike traditional WAN optimisation products, the Cisco WAAS solution offers significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for branch offices and data centers, ease of integration through network transparency, reliable voice and data deployment, and maximised overall security.
