Email continuity is a naturally high priority for most IT managers. Keeping email services available at all times is of utmost importance to a company's operations but not all have the budget for clustered mail servers and off-site disaster recovery facilities. Even with these systems in place, companies need the assurance that during a switch over, services will be seamlessly maintained.

Mimecast overcomes this by allowing end users to log-in and access all new emails via a rich web mail client during a mail server outage, by simply using their common username and password. Besides new email, a policy controlled level of email history is also available to each end user. This facility can also be backed by a lower priority MX service hosted in the Mimecast data centre so that the same services are available in the event of a complete site outage.
