ANS GROUP EXPANDS ITS GREEN INITIATIVE

The Board of ANS Group, a leading IT and Telecoms solution provider, is delighted to announce the expansion of its Green initiative with the introduction of the Cisco SMART Car scheme (“SMART Car”).

The SMART Car scheme is being introduced to enhance the Company’s existing Green policy. The scheme will be launched at 2 p.m. on 3 July 2008 at the Company’s Manchester office at the Manchester Science Park, Manchester, M15 6SY. Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of ANS Group, and Bernadette Wightman, Director of SMB UK , Cisco, will be discussing green policies and why ANS have decided to introduce the SMART Car scheme.

ANS Group purchased the SMART Car to give employees the option to travel to and from local meetings using the shared, fuel efficient vehicle, reducing the Company’s overall travel emissions.

The SMART Car scheme supports ANS Group’s existing green policies including the ‘cycle to work’ scheme, where the Company purchased a number of mountain bikes to encourage employees to bike to work and the ‘think before you print’ initiative where the Company aims to increase recycling and reduce printing through the supply of digital product information.

Finally the Company is using the latest Cisco Unified Communications and video conferencing technology to allow information to be available anywhere at any time improving efficiency and reducing the need for travel.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of ANS Group commented: "We strongly believe in Corporate Social Responsibility and we’re doing everything we can to promote a greener work place. The SMART Car scheme supports our existing Green policies including ‘cycle to work’ and ‘think before you print’. We currently provide bikes for 8-10 per cent. of our employees to cycle to work and we hope to increase this to 20-30 per cent. as soon as possible.

The SMART Car scheme should take, on average, 2 cars off the road thus reducing the Company’s overall carbon footprint. We’re passionate about reducing our carbon footprint and we plan to build on the Cisco SMART Car scheme and our Green policy in the near future.”"
